American Scholar and Civil Rights Activist: W.E.B. Du Bois

W.E.B. Du Bois, 1868-1963, was a fascinating figure in American history. He was a civil rights activist from the early 20th century, scholar, writer, sociologist, the first African American to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard University, one of the co-founders of the NAACP.

I am planning to read his major writings, which had a profound influence on African American philosophy, sociology and the civil rights movement.
